Performances Reflect Colorado’s Thriving Music Scene
Denver (September 29, 2015) – Colorado Public Television (CPT12, Channel 12 PBS) and OpenAir, Colorado Public Radio’s new-music service, announce Season 2 of “OpenAir Live & Local,” with 12 all new episodes that celebrate the state’s vibrant music scene with performances by local artists.
Season 2 debuts Saturday, Oct. 3 at 9:30 p.m. on CPT12. Throughout the season, OpenAir hosts Mike Flanagan, Jessi Whitten and Alisha Sweeney will serve as guides to the local music scene, sharing insight about Colorado musicians and their influence alongside interviews and performances filmed in the CPR Performance Studio, Colorado Public Radio’s intimate, state-of-the-art recording space.
“’OpenAir Live & Local’ supports music discovery, connecting Coloradans to the CPR Performance Studio and the hundreds of local musicians who have recorded exclusive OpenAir sessions as part of Colorado’s music community,” said CPR’s Chief Content Officer Doug Clifton. “We’re thrilled to be collaborating on another season with CPT12 to feature the local artists who are generating acclaim and putting Colorado on the map as a major music destination, including Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Strawberry Runners, Elephant Revival, Tennis, SHEL and many more.”
“OpenAir Live & Local” is part of CPT12’s Saturday night music lineup that includes “Austin City Limits,” “Live From the Artists Den” and CPT12’s original music program, “Sounds on 29th.”
“This great partnership with ‘OpenAir Live & Local’ affirms our commitment to the local music scene,” said Heather Dalton, Executive Producer and Creative Services Manager for CPT12. “From ‘Teletunes’ to ‘Sounds on 29th,’ Colorado Public Television has been devoted to Colorado music for over 30 years.
